Rally against LG law

NAWABSHAH, Oct 20: Sindh Bachayo Committee (SBC) on Saturday took out a rally against the new local government system.

The rally participants, carrying banners and placards and raising slogans against the Sindh People’s Local Government Act, 2012, started their march from New Nakka and after passing through various thoroughfares they held a demonstration outside the press club.

Syed Zain Shah of the Sindh United Party, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Syed Zahid Hussain Shah of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Sarfaraz Memon of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Qazi Nadeem of the Tehreek-i-Insaf, Nazimuddin Burdi of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Raja Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi of the National People’s Party and Altaf Bhatti of the Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto spoke to the protesters.

They criticised PPP for dividing Sindh into two by introducing a dual local government system. They were of the view that the controversial Act was bound to sow the seed of hatred among the people of Sindh.—BoC
