LAHORE, Oct 17: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday granted bail to actress/model Sofia Mirza involved in a maid-kidnap case.

Mirza’s counsel pleaded before the judge that the police arrested his client on the basis of fake allegations. He said maid Fatima had also denied the allegation in her statement before a judicial magistrate.

The counsel said the maid stated that no body had kidnapped her, but she left home due to the attitude of her family.

After hearing the arguments, the judge granted interim bail to Sofia Mirza till Oct 25 against furnishing of bail bonds of Rs50,000.
