LAHORE, Oct 15: The City District Government Lahore administration on Monday ordered the officials concerned to get criminal cases registered against five private schools for showing uncooperative behaviour in administering polio drops to children up to five years of age.

The action was taken after the Samanabad Town deputy district officer (health) informed the CDGL administrator/DCO about the issue. The schools against whom the cases were ordered to be registered included the Educators, (102-A Muslim Town), The Lander-half School (81-A New Muslim Town), Al-Barka School (259-A New Muslim Town), Cathedral School (Moon Market, Allama Iqbal Town) and American Lycetuff (Gulshan-i-Ravi). Meanwhile, the city administration has requested the entire private schools to cooperate with polio teams in order to help the officials achieve the target. YOUTH FESTIVAL: Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik on Monday ordered the authorities concerned to ensure provision of uniforms to all players of the Punjab Youth Festival and on-time distribution of prizes among the winners. Presiding over a meeting, he directed the officials to finalise arrangements for holding a variety of competitions at divisional level. He said as a team of the Guinness Book of World Record was in the province to observe the festival events, the officials concerned should ensure maintenance of record of all contests.
