KOHAT, Oct 10: A policeman was arrested on Wednesday for robbing commuters on Hangu Bypass Road.

A police official said Tahir, a driver in Rescue 15, was being quizzed by a team comprising DSP, local SHO and two officials from Peshawar.

He said the arrest was made on the complaint of a motorcyclist that the police driver had deprived him of cash and cellphone.

The official said the driver’s brother had also been taken into custody on suspicion.

He said the accused would be shifted to the CIA police post for investigation.

The official said police had seized an unlicensed Kalashnikov, two hand grenades, a pistol, a dagger and two cellphone chargers from the custody of the accused.

DEATH SENTENCE: Additional district and sessions judge Zeb Khan on Wednesday awarded death sentence and Rs50,000 fine to a drug pusher and life imprisonment and Rs25,000 fine to his accomplice on Wednesday.

However, the third accused was freed.

The three were arrested after police seized 21kg heroin in their car coming to Kohat from the tribal area.
