ABU DHABI, Dec 31: Pakistan embassy has made arrangements to help illegal Pakistani immigrants here benefit from the four-month-long amnesty by the UAE government.

The embassy has planned to work beyond its regular working hours from Jan 4, to cope with the expected rush of applicants for the issuance of emergency travel documents.

Each applicant will be required to present original passport and national identity card or any other officially authentic evidence of his being Pakistani citizen.

Application forms can be obtained from the Consular Section of the embassy as well as from all Pakistani banks/ money exchanges and airline offices.

The embassy has established a one-window operation consisting of special counters of Pakistani banks and airlines on its premises in Abu Dhabi and the Pakistan consulate General in Dubai to provide on-the-spot services.

The embassy is in constant coordination with the immigration authorities in Pakistan as well as in the UAE for extending possible help to all those who wish to avail this opportunity.

Both the Pakistani missions, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, are receiving required guidance from the UAE authorities to make amnesty a success.—APP
