ISLAMABAD, Oct 5: All education-related activities revolve around teachers. They are the role models for the children of the nation.

This was stated by participants of a seminar held in connection with World Teachers Day here. The seminar on ‘Take a stand for teachers’ was organised by the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD).

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Education and Training Sardar Shahjahan Yousuf said nations who have no respect for teachers remain ignorant and backward. He added that those who respected teachers can rapidly achieve progress.

“We must help and support the teachers and resolve the issues and problems they are facing,” he said.

Director General NCHD Khusro Pervaiz Khan said society always applauded the role of teachers. Improving the education standards is our priority and this can only be possible if we improve the socio-economic position of our teachers, he added.

Vice-President Private Schools Association, Islamabad, Asifa Asad said facilities should also be provided to private schools because they are also playing a role for building the nation.

Students from different schools and colleges performed tableaus on the occasion. Certificates were also distributed among the teachers.
