LAHORE, Sept 30: Pakistani women have great potential and they can contribute a lot in enhancing their family income by taking part in revenue generation activities.

This was stated by Begum Sardar Latif Khosa, the wife of Punjab Governor, after inaugurating a cooking competition held in connection with a three-day International Poultry Expo-2012 at the Expo Centre in Johar Town here on Sunday.

A good number of women took part in the cooking competition organised by the Pakistan Poultry Association.

Begum Khosa appreciated the participation of local and foreign companies, a large number of poultry experts, businessmen, industrialists and womenfolk in the event.

She said that solid steps were being taken for the development of the poultry industry and assured that the PPP-led federal government would provide security and every facility to investors in this regard. The government, she said, would also provide necessary technical support to strengthen the poultry sector in the country.

She expressed the satisfaction that the poultry industry was the second largest industry after textile, as over 1.5 million people were affiliated with it. Expo Chief Organizer Khalid Saleem Malik, K&N chairman Khaliq Sattar. Dr Abdul Basit, Khaleeq Ahmed, Dr Wajid Raza Jafrey and Dr Azhar Hanif also spoke.
