ISLAMABAD, Dec 29: Interior Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat has given a weeks time to the administration of Capital Development Authority (CDA) for improving its performance.

The minister informed a group of reporters about this instruction at the residence of the defence minister, Rao Sikander Iqbal here on Saturday.

He said: “The performance of the CDA is quite poor and I have given seven days to the officials to improve their performance, otherwise a stern action will be taken against them.”

The minister said he had been given a briefing at the authority’s headquarters a week ago. He asked the CDA chairman to convene another meeting after a week.

The minister said strict action would be taken against those involved in any malpractice, negligence and corruption.

Answering a question, he said the CDA chairman would be replaced soon.—Our Reporter
