THIS is apropos of the news item ‘Clash with army man: axe falls on six police officials’ (Sept 16). It is about six police officials whose services were terminated after they manhandled an army officer in Faisalabad.
It is encouraging to see that people in power are being questioned and punished for abuse of power. Yet one cannot help but think whether the action was taken (perhaps only) because the victim was an army officer.
I wish that the authorities were equally responsive in their duties when handling complaints from citizens.
