LAHORE, Sept 18: Anti-vehicle lifting staff of the CIA claim to have killed three alleged robbers in an ‘encounter’ in Chuhng on Tuesday night.

Investigation SSP Babar Bakht told Dawn a police team headed by Inspector Shakeel had signalled six suspects riding on three motorcycles at a picket erected in Chuhng for identification. The suspects opened fire on police and fled. All policemen escaped unhurt, he said.

The SSP claimed the police returned the fire and killed three of them while their other accomplices managed to escape.

The bodies of the deceased, yet to be identified, were sent to the morgue.
