Rise in utility bills

Published September 19, 2012

ELECTRICITY, gas and petrol prices are very high and the common man can not afford these utilities. In city areas, there is loadshedding of 12 hours, and in the outskirts, there is a loadshedding schedule of 16 to 17 hours.

There is continuous rise in the rate of utility bills and the problem of shortage of electricity and gas is not being solved.

There is also rise in the prices of LPG and compressed natural gas. When CNG was introduced into the market, it was very cheap.

The majority of the people converted their cars into compressed natural gas because at that time petrol was quite expensive but nowadays there is hardly any difference between the prices of both.

People keep protesting on a daily basis regarding these bills but it seems to have no effect whatsoever on the government.

There are many issues in Pakistan but the issue of electricity and gas is the main issue.

It needs to be tackled by the government on an urgent basis lest things take an ugly turn.
