KARACHI, Dec 27: Young medium pacer Rajesh Ramesh checked Karachi Whites progress taking five wicketds for 91 as Pak PWD restricted the home team to 283 for eight wickets on the opening day of their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy grade-I match at National Stadium on Friday.

For Karachi Whites Faisal Mirza and Irfanuddin put on 66 for the unfinished ninth wicket after they had slumped to 217.

Earlier opener Agha Sabir struck a fine 52 with six hits to the ropes.
