Yasir grabs U-14 crown

KARACHI, Dec. 27: Yasir Khan was crowned Under-14 boys singles champion of National Hard Court junior tennis championship overcoming Shahid Afridi in straight sets in the final played at Karachi Gymkhana Court on Friday.

The score was 6-4, 7-5 in Yasir’s favour.

Despite the scoreline the final was never a one-sided affair as Shahid specially in the second set put up a spirited fight before going down against a superior opponent, 7-5.

The final of under-18 will be played today (Saturday) between Akbar Pataudi and Shahid Afridi.
