RECENTLY I received a text message from one of my friends. It made me dejected. My friend received this message from his brother who is living in a village. The forwarded text message said: “Brother, I cannot sleep due to drone noise in the air.”This is what we call reality. This is the situation that is prevailing in the tribal areas of Pakistan. Society is suffering from all ends with no hope of any solution. Most of the people in tribal areas are migrating to other places.

The drone attacks are not new to them. Society in tribal areas is suffering as these drone attacks have disturbed the peace. Physiological disorders are spreading at a rapid pace in this area and among them children are the most affected.

Children are not able to go to schools to seek education. Instead, they are turning into physiological patients. The learning environment is totally disturbed with no sign of improvement. The local business situation is also worsening day by day as no one is ready to start business in this area. The one who faces the situation knows better the harsh realities. The nation must come forward and help the affected people by showing unity and integrity.

The government must divert its attention to the tribal areas and provide emergency support in different sectors. Societal problems in tribal areas must be dealt with seriously so that further damage can be stopped. The government must raise a voice against drone attacks at the levels of the American government and the international community.
