KARACHI, Sept 9: Abdul Rehman overpowered Rahmat Ali Ahsan 7-6, 6-4 to become the first player to reach men’s singles final at the 22nd Sindh Sports Board (SSB) talent hunt ranking tennis championship which resumed after three days break following rains on Sunday.
The organisers were compelled to conduct the matches at two different venues – Union Club and Bath Island Club – in order to cover the backlog of matches as main venue at the PN Physical Training and Sports Centre was still wet and not in a position to hold matches.
Results: Men’s singles: Quarter-final: Fahim Ramzan bt Khaleeq-uz-Zaman 6-3, 6-1.
Semi-final: Abdul Rehman bt Rahmat Ali Ahsan 7-6, 6-4.
Juniors’ under-17 singles: Quarter-final: Hasnain Haider bt Sanwal Memon – walkover.
Semi-final: Hassan Siddiqui bt Hasnain Haider 6-3, 6-3.
Under-15 singles: Quarter-final: Marib Malik bt Hania Naveed 6-2, 6-1.
