AUCKLAND, Dec 24: New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming is expecting his fast bowlers to maintain their supremacy over India’s batsmen in the one-day series also.

New Zealand were indebted to their pacemen for wrapping up the recent two-Test series 2-0 against the tourists.

“Our bowlers have got another chance to get on top of them,” said Fleming ahead of the opening one-dayer, starting at Eden Park here on Thursday.

“They’ve to keep an edge over their batsmen even though India are a very talented one-day side and have quality players.”

Meanwhile, Indian batting superstar Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday became a doubtful starter for the opening one-dayer due to an ankle injury.

“He sprained his right ankle during a practice session, but it’s too early to say anything,” said Indian manager Nathu Ram Chaudhary.

“There’s still one more day to go. I talked to Tendulkar and he seemed confident to play the match,” said the Indian manager.—AFP
