KARACHI: Christmas events

KARACHI, Dec 24: Christian community in this city, along with its brethren world over, is celebrating Christmas on Wednesday to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ — Dec 25.

Special services in Urdu and English will be held in all the churches of the city. Clergymen will deliver sermons to highlight the importance of Christmas and preach religious obligations of the believers at the churches which have been beautifully decorated with colourful buntings.

The biggest gathering of the Roman Catholics will be held at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Saddar where four services will be held during the day. Three services, in English, will be held at 6am, 8am, and 9.30am whereas the service in Urdu is scheduled to be held at 5pm.

The Protestants will hold their biggest gathering at the Holy Trinity Cathedral where Bishop Sadiq Daniel will lead the holy communion in English at 930am which will be followed by the communion in Urdu led by Rev Wilson Nazim at 11am.
