KARAK, Aug 18: Seven people were killed and 12 others injured in different incidents in Karak district on Saturday.

Police said that two armed persons riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on a passenger coach (P3571) in Amberi Kala of Takht-i-Nusrati tehsil, killing one Hazrat Ali of Ahmadabad.

Mateeullah, brother of Mr Ali, registered an FIR in Takht-i-Nusrati police station, saying that his brother was killed when two unidentified motorcycle riders armed with pistols opened fire on the coach.

However, the police have arrested driver of the coach for investigations.

In another incident, three people were killed and one person was seriously injured when a passenger coach going from Kohat to Bannu hit a motorcycle near Speena Mor on Indus Highway. All the three motorcycle riders identified as Naseebullah, 10, his brother Adil Nawaz, 20, and Gul Hassan Shah, 22, all resident of Paindi Banda, were taken to hospital in a serious condition, but they did not survive.

Driver of the coach Haseenullah was admitted to district headquarters hospital in a critical condition.

In a separate road mishap, a teenage boy Imam Hassan of Sarray Khwa was crushed to death by a speeding coaster (PRZ 1079) while he was crossing Indus Highway near Niazi Well stop.

In Latambar, one Allah Dad of Aral Toradam Banda was killed over a land dispute. His relatives registered an FIR in Latamber police station against three accused.

In Karak tehsil, one Zahid Khan of Andaki Banda was killed and five others were injured when two motorcycles collided in Chanikhel area. The injured identified as Muslim Khan, Raza Khan, Ahmad Jan, Saleem Raza, Noor Hakeem Shah and Zafar Zahid were taken to Sabirabad health centre. —Correspondent
