LAHORE, Dec 21: Two goals each by full-back Sohail Abbas, centre-forward Kashif Jawad and striker Nadeem enabled Pakistan Greens to thrash Pakistan Juniors 7-1 in an impressive victory in the second match of NBP League hockey at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.
Juniors who were beaten by Whites 3-1 in the first match again failed to display any impressive form against Greens.
Sohail Abbas, gave the Greens a flying start scoring the first two goals through penalty corners. He scored the first in the 22nd minute and the second five minutes later. Skipper Mohammad Sarwar extended the lead 3-0 when he scored a field goal in the 30th minute. Half time score was 3-0.
In the seconf half, Greens continued their attacking game and showed no mercy for Juniors. Greens scored three quick goals within five minutes. Nadeem scored the fourth goal in the 50th minute, followed by back to back goals from centre-forward Kashif in the 52nd and 55th minute which extended the lead 6-0.
Muhammad Imran scored the consolation goal for Juniors in the 60th minute. He converted a third penalty-corner to make it 6-1.
Nadeem managed to score the seventh goal of the Greens in the final minute of play.
