ISLAMABAD, Aug 13: Pakistan’s spinner Saeed Ajmal is among the six players nominated in three different categories for the ninth LG ICC Awards to be held on Sept 15 in Colombo ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka.

The six players that have been nominated in three different categories for the awards include Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal, South Africa’s Hashim Amla, Australia captain Michael Clarke, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, England’s Alastair Cook and West Indies Stafanie Taylor, says a press release issued here.

Saeed Ajmal is one of the two players from Pakistan that have been nominated for the ICC ODI player of the year along with Shahid Afridi.

He is also nominated for ICC Test cricketer of the year and ICC player of the year.

Other Pakistani players to be nominated for the awards include Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez for ICC spirit of cricket award and T20 performance of the year award for his performance against Zimbabwe on Sept 16, 2011.

Pacer Junaid Khan has been nominated for the ICC emerging player of the year award and umpire Aleem Dar has been nominated for ICC umpire of the year.

A five-man panel which included Clive Lloyd, Marvan Ataparru, Carl Hooper, Tom Moody and Clare Connor put the list together.
