When the father of this nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, addressed the country for the first time, he mentioned that he wanted to see unity, faith and discipline as qualities embedded in the residents of this country.

These were the three main traits that the Quaid wanted every Pakistani to adopt. Sadly, the motto of this extraordinary leader is lost somewhere.

Today all we see is that we are divided into sects, religions, etc., and our favourite game is the blame game which we play exceptionally well. We have made it a habit to blame others for all flaws, instead of truly changing our own selves personally.

What we have failed to realise is that ‘united we stand and divided we fall’ is a saying that holds true for us. We have done nothing to enforce national unity.

We agree that these golden words of the Quaid are lost but this doesn’t mean that our country doesn’t have any hopes left. We must reflect on our actions now and plan ahead to prevent the future from being as disastrous as it looks right now from the way things currently are.

We must start believing in Allah, the Almighty, and believe that all sovereignty lies within Him.

This belief will bind us as a nation and lead us towards the right path.

What many fail to realise is that Pakistan has immense potential to be one of the leading nations in the world.

We must try to revive the motto of our great leader and work towards self and national development.

This is the only way we will be able to hold our heads high in front of everyone and say we belong to the land where unity, faith and discipline are not only the motto of our founder but we belong to the country where these virtues are a part of the soul of every Pakistani national.
