QUETTA, Aug 8: Police seized a large quantity of explosives in a raid on a house in Jinnah Town here on Wednesday and arrested to two suspects.

Police said the explosives had been stored in the house for use in acts of subversion in the provincial capital, adding that the men arrested belonged to a banned militant group involved in sectarian killings.

Intelligence agency personnel also took part in the raid.

Police also raided several other places to look for other members of the group and its ring leader who belongs to Parachinar.

“We have seized 20kgs of high explosives, eight small IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and some hand-grenades,” police said.
