KARACHI, Aug 6: The department of microbiology of Karachi University is organising the inauguration ceremony for the newly constructed KU-ASM Bio Resource Centre on Tuesday at 10am at the department.

The construction and development work of the centre has been completed in collaboration with the American Society for Microbiology under the ASM International Ambassadors Programme.

KU vice chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Qaiser will preside over the event.

BA results The University of Karachi has announced the results of BA part-II and both parts regular annual examination 2011.

A total of 8,976 students were registered and 8,593 of them appeared in the exams.

A total of 758 candidates passed the exams in first division, 2,526 in second division and 29 students in third division. The pass percentage remained at 38.55pc.

Semester fee The University of Karachi has extended the last date for payment of semester examinations fee of 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th semesters till Aug 31 with a late fee of Rs1,000. Meanwhile, the director of admissions committee has announced that successful candidates of Master’s/Diploma (Evening Programme Admission-2012-13) can submit their fee till August 10.

The candidates have been directed to bring their required documents to complete the admission formalities.—Agencies
