QUETTA, Aug 1: Prominent psychiatrist and senior professor of Bolan Medical College Dr Ghulam Rasool was kidnapped in broad daylight from the Brewery road area on Wednesday, two days after a kidnapped senior surgeon of the same college Dr Din Mohammad Bangulzai had been released.

Dr Bangulzai had been kidnapped by a gang from Mastung area a week ago.

Sources said that Dr Ghulam Rasool was going to his clinic in Killi Ibrahimzai when four men intercepted his car, pulled him out, forced him to sit in their car and sped away.

“Some armed men have kidnapped senior psychiatrist Dr Ghulam Rasool. The gang may have kidnapped the senior doctor for ransom,” police sources said, adding that two weeks ago a group of armed men had barged into Dr Ghulam Rasool’s home and robbed gold and cash worth millions of rupees.

The Balochistan chapter of the Pakistan Medical Association and Young Doctors Association warned the government of serious consequences if the doctor was not freed from kidnappers.
