Trio on goal spree

LAHORE, Dec 19: Global Telecom entered the final of the Winter Cup polo defeating Thuraya 7-1 1/2 Thursday.

Kamran Noorudin, Faaiz Rahim Khan and Shah Qublai Alam scored two goals each for Telecom.

Qublai and Faaiz scored a goal each in the first chukker, while Sufi Muhammad Amir netted the only goal for Thuraya which had half goal on handicap, before the chukker ended.

Shah Shamyl Alam struck the third goal of Telecom in the second chukker.

Qublai fired his second goal in the third chukker while Kamran slammed two goals and Faaiz his remaining goal in the same chukker; The fourth chukker was goalless.

Earlier, in a group match, Musa Industries defeated Medowlea 11-7 1/2.

In the high scoring encounter, Ahmad Nawaz was the top scorer for the winners, scoring four goals. Hasan Raza Gillani and Haseeb Minhas also excelled and shared nine goals among them equally. Omer Minhas added a goal to make the tally.

Medowlea scored seven goals in the match with Agha Murtaza, Saqib Khakwani and Usman Hayee netting two goals apiece while Omar Sadiq chipped in a goal.
