ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Tuesday said that cross-border attacks into Pakistan were under active discussion with the ISAF, including through the Border Coordination Mechanism as part of the ongoing coordination and cooperation between Pakistan and ISAF.
Responding to some media reports regarding cross-border incursions into Pakistan, the spokesman said that the issue had been raised on several occasions with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) as well as the government of Afghanistan.
He said that the most recent major cross-border attacks took place in Dir and Bajaur agencies on June 24 and July 12 this year, respectively.
These cross-border attacks were successfully repulsed, he said and added that special care was exercised to limit fire only to areas from where militants attacked border posts.
