KARACHI, July 29: Three-year-old bay colt Swell Victory overtook co-favourites Rija and Bankable in the final stretch for home to land the feature event in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Making his appearance after two months layoff, the colt beat filly Rija by four lengths to make it two wins on the trot. Mare Bankable was pushed to third place half-a-length away with bay horse Discreet Cat completing the board 10 lengths further behind.

The triumph helped rider M. Amjad to complete a back-to-back double as he guided outsider bay horse Honourable to a length-and-a-half victory over colt Babu in the earlier race. Public fancy filly National Queen had to be content with third slot ahead of Koo Koo Love.

In yet another upset of the day, long shot mare Easy Match registered a two-and-a-half lengths victory over bay horse Star To Win to claim the honours in the sixth and concluding race. Favourite Fakhr-e-Chanab finished off the board.
