HYDERABAD, July 27: The Director General of Monitoring, Planning and Development of the government of Sindh, Sabhago Khan Jatoi, has termed the Rs16 billion Sehwan-Ratodero dual carriageway a project of national importance and warned that no negligence will be tolerated in its construction.

Its completion, he said at a meeting here on Friday, would open a new corridor of trade and communication.

Besides ways of removing hurdles which might crop up, the meeting discussed construction of five bypasses and repair of four bypasses which would link the carriageway with different roads.

The general manager of the National Highway Authority’s foreign-funded projects in Sindh, Syed Sher Ali Shah, said the contract for the project had been awarded to Frontier Works Organisation.—APP
