KARACHI: Pakistan's top skeet shooter Khurram Inam spent the last couple of days getting used to the conditions of a temporary shooting range established at the Royal Artillery Barracks for the Olympics.

“I am in a good frame of mind and acclimatizing with the conditions,” he said in a telephonic talk on Friday from London.

South Asian shooting record-holder Khurram Inam is at the verge of making history by becoming the first Pakistani shooter to feature in the Olympics thrice - Sydney (2000), Athens (2004) and now London (2012).

“It’s a great feeling but achieving my best score here in London Olympics will make this occasion special for me,” he said.

“The environment here is great. But it was important how quickly you adjust in the conditions in this precision sport,” he added.

He said he will be launching an extensive two day shooting spree to put him in the best shape for the event on July 30-31.

Overall 36 shooters would be taking part in the skeet event and the top six will qualify to fire an additional 25 round after the preliminaries.
