I REGRET with a heavy heart that pensioners of the PCSIR have been continuously suffering due to delays in the payment of pensions. Such delays have now become a routine.

AS prices of commodities go up daily, pensioners sufferer the most as they are often paid meagre pensions.

During their old age when they are weak and feeble, they require maximum health facilities but their hospitalisation facilities have also been withdrawn.

Moreover, delays in the payment of pension has become a regular feature in the PCSIR. This is because of the habitual delays in the release of budget for the ministry of science and technology. At present the pension for May and June has not been paid though it is the third week of July.

The ministry of science and technology, the chairman of the PCSIR and all other relevant and resourceful authorities of the federal government should look into the matter.
