TIMERGARA, July 24: Five people, including a woman and a child, were killed while eight others injured when a pick-up truck they were riding in plunged into a deep ravine at Luqman Banda Khall on Tuesday, police and residents told Dawn.

They said a passenger vehicle bound for Samar Taal from Khall bazaar went out of the driver’s control at a sharp turn in Luqman Banda and fell into a deep roadside ravine.

Three persons identified as Anwar, Ismail and Nazary were killed on the spot while a child and a woman succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital. The injured, including driver of the vehicle Jamshid, were brought to the district headquarter hospital Timergara where their condition was stated to be out of danger. The dead and the injured belonged to the same village, sources said.
