KARACHI: In a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation proposed to call a National Round-table conference, DawnNews reported.

MQM delegation, headed by Farooq Sattar, held a meeting with President Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi.

Speaking to media representatives after the meeting, MQM leader Raza Haroon said “ the party delegation has suggested to the president that there should be a round table conference in which people from all political and religious parties should be invited.”

He said that the MQM delegation has discussed various issues with the president especially the issue of the extortionists and law and order situation in Karachi

The meeting also discussed the issue of Balochistan, Haroon added.

The MQM would contact all political and religious parties for the national conference, he said.

Haroon said that President Zardari has reassured that important decisions will be taken pertaining to law and order situation of Karachi.
