KARACHI, July 22: A worker of the Pakistan People’s Party was shot dead by gunmen in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Sunday night, police said.

They said Sardar Imam Bakhsh Baloch was sitting outside his bungalow within the remit of the Sachal police station after Iftar when two gunmen on a motorcycle arrived there, opened fire on him and fled.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

The deceased was a member of the PPP Sindh council.

PPP member of the National Assembly Qadir Patel condemned the killing and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the attack.

Following the murder, tension gripped the locality.

A large number of PPP workers also reached the JPMC after the victim’s body was taken to the hospital.
