TAXILA, July 20: A man shot dead his sister and her husband over honour in Tass village in the limits of Hassanabdal police station on Friday.

Police sources said W.G., a father of five and resident of Mardan, contracted second marriage about a year back with Y.B., against the will of his in-laws as she was already engaged to a man in her native village Dir.

They settled in a far-flung area of village Tass and started working as farm workers to avert any revenge from his in-laws.

During early hours of Friday, N.W., brother of the girl, along with M.N.J., the man whom Y.B. was engaged to, came to their house and opened indiscriminate fire and later fled from the scene.

They were taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hassanabdal, where they succumbed to their injuries.    Later the bodies were handed over for burial, after autopsy.  Hassanabdal police have registered a case against the accused and started further investigation.—Correspondent
