UMERKOT, July 19: Villagers killed an alleged bandit Zaman Panhwar near Kunri town on Thursday.

He is wanted in 48 cases and carries d head money of Rs1 million.

Umerkot SP Riaz Soomro told journalists that Panhwar was a proclaimed offender and wanted in cases of robbery, murder, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes.

On Thursday morning, Panhwar and members of his gang Lalu Khaskheli, Sajid Ranghar, Rustam Memon and Habib Khaskheli robbed two villagers, Ghulam Haider and Rasheed Ahmed Bhatti, of a motorcycle, Rs1500 cash and two mobile phones.

The villagers chased the bandits and found them in Rustam Memon village in the guest house of Sikandar Memon near Kunri. They challenged the bandits and killed Panhwar after a shootout. His accomplices escaped.—BoC
