ISLAMABAD, July 17: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan has said that his party will never forge an electoral alliance with the parties which had representation in the present parliament because all of them were “part of the coalition government”.

Talking to newsmen after opening the summer games camp organised by the National Press Club here on Tuesday, Mr Khan said the PTI was the most popular party in the country and it would accept an interim government which was set up through consultation with all opposition parties.

He claimed: “The rival parties are too weak because not one of them is standing on its own feet nor are they true representatives of the masses.”

He said the youths were the most precious asset of the nation and the goal of progress could not be achieved without investing in them.

Criticising Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, the PTI chief said: “While one has grabbed the presidency on the basis of a so-called ‘will’ of his wife, the other is brought up in the lap of Gen Jillani.”

He said there was no difference between Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Altaf Hussain and Asfandyar Wali Khan.

Nawaz Sharif was endeavouring to bring an interim set-up of his own choice in ‘connivance’ with the PPP, he added Mr Khan said he would take journalists and members of civil society to Waziristan so that they could see the real situation on the ground.

He demanded of the government to make public the names of those killed in drone strikes and said he was sure that a majority of them comprised peaceful citizens.

The PTI chairman said patriotic tribesmen and a large number of Pakistani soldiers had been killed and country’s economy and social structure were destroyed because of the US war on terror.
