LAKKI MARWAT, July 15: The residents of Mohallah Haqdad Abad in Lakki city suffered a lot in the intense heat and humidity as the locality was hit by a long power breakdown.
Mohallah Haqdad Abad is considered a posh urban locality and is reportedly connected to a rural Begukhel power feeder. Area people said they suffered a lot of trouble as power supply to the locality remained suspended from 4pm on Saturday to 11am on Sunday.
“The long power breakdown added to the miseries of locals besides causing acute shortage of water,” they maintained.
They said the locality was a part of Lakki city but it was being supplied with electricity facility from a rural electricity feeder.
“After energising additional power feeder in 132KV Tajazai grid station for Lakki city there is no justification to link Mohallah Haqdad Abad with a rural feeder,” they said. They maintained that the localities connected with rural power feeders were hard hit by scheduled and unscheduled loadshedding.
An attempt to know the cause of long electricity breakdown failed as a local official of Pesco Lakki sub-division did not attend the call on his cell phone.
Residents of the urban locality, however, demanded of the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company to order a thorough probe into 19 hours long power suspension and initiate action against the local officials after fixing responsibility.
They also demanded of the authorities concerned to direct local Pesco officials to link Mohallah Haqdad Abad with city-I power feeder.
