The Awami National Party on Saturday rejected Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan’s allegation of corruption against its government in the province.
In a statement issued by Bacha Khan Markaz here, ANP provincial general secretary Arbab Mohammad Tahir Khan said the sacrifices of his party’s leaders and workers enabled PTI to organise a peaceful demonstration in the provincial capital on Saturday.
He said the people gathered around Imran Khan failed to deliver when they were part of different political groups and therefore, they won’t make any difference in PTI, too.
Mr Arbab said popularity of ANP had shot up over the last four years due to its campaign against terrorists.
“The sacrifices rendered by our workers and security forces were the stumbling block in the way of insurgents,” he said.
The ANP leader said his party was united under the leadership of Asfandyar Wali Khan.—Bureau Report
