UNITED NATIONS, July 13: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon has been summoned to Islamabad by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and has not resigned, sources here said on Friday.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has also rejected rumours about Mr Haroon’s resignation and said he is still working for Pakistan at the UN headquarters.  However, sources said that Mr Haroon was ready to leave his post whenever required by the “situation and circumstances”.

He is expected to leave for Pakistan over the weekend to meet the foreign minister.
