HYDERABAD, Dec 16: The Pakistani establishment has pushed the Sindhis against the wall and the basic motive behind the state violence was to perpetuate its control over the land of Sindhis.

Speaking to journalists at a local hotel on Sunday, the chairman of the World Sindhi Congress, Munawar Halepoto, said that the establishment was, in fact, interested in Sindh not the Sindhis.

Halepoto said that the federation was insulting the mandate of the people of Sindh by interfering in the election of the chief minister of the province.

He said that the elected representatives of the people of Sindh were being victimized inside and outside the assemblies.

Answering a question about the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Halepoto said that it was not sincere with Sindh and it was only using the Sindh card.

He said that the people of Sindh could never forget the excesses of the MQM, adding that Altaf Hussain had not tendered any apology to the Sindhi people in this regard.

He announced that a two-day conference would be held at Hyderabad on Dec 21-22 to discuss vital issues affecting Sindh.
