KARACHI, July 9: A scrap dealer was shot dead in the Shershah area on Monday evening, police said.

They said that the incident took place within the remit of the Shershah police station near Paracha Chowk where armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted Amanat Ali, 40, who was also on a bike, shot him in the head and rode away.

Shershah SHO Mohammad Nawaz said that the victim was heading to his home on a motorcycle when he was targeted.

The victim had Rs100,000 in his pocket and a cellphone but the killers didn’t take away anything from his possession, he added.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities. He was a scrap dealer.

The area SHO said that it appeared that the motive behind the killing was some personal enmity because some of his relatives were nominated in a murder case lodged at the Korangi Industrial Area police station.

Labourer killed, two wounded A man was killed and two others were wounded when armed men opened fire on a roadside tea stall in F.B. Industrial Area on Monday.

Police said that the incident took place in Madina Colony, where the armed men riding on a motorcycle opened fire on a man sitting at the roadside tea stall.

The police said Inayatur Rehman, 20, was the apparent target of the assailants. He suffered serious bullet wounds in the chest while two others sitting at the tea stall were also wounded in the firing.

The wounded were rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Rehman was pronounced dead on arrival while two others were admitted for treatment.

A duty officer at the F.B. Industrial Area police station said that the deceased was a labourer employed at a nearby industrial unit. He originally hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Quoting his family, the police said that he had some personal enmity back home.

Liaquatabad division SP Noman Siddiqui said that the attack on the tea stall was motivated by some personal enmity.

Till late in the night, no FIR in connection with the murder was lodged.

Body found The body of an unidentified young man was found on the outskirts of Landhi’s Cattle Colony on Monday morning, police said.

They said that the body was found at a deserted place in bushes within the remit of the Sukkan police station.

The victim had been shot in the head and the body bore torture marks, said a duty officer at the Sukkan police station.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
