PESHAWAR, July 7: One policeman was killed and three others including an additional station house officer were injured in a roadside blast here on Saturday evening.

An official of Peshtakhwa police station said that the law enforcers were patrolling the area in a van and when they were targeted by a roadside bomb near Achini Chowk. He said that the bomb was planted along the under-construction Hayatabad Road that seemed to have been detonated through a remote control.

The van, he said, was targeted when it had almost passed through the spot and that was why a police constable sitting on the rear seat was killed while his other colleagues received injuries.

The killed constable was identified as Samin Khan. Additional SHO Saiful Malook, driver Salih Mohammad and constable Haider Bacha were injured in the blast.
