CARACAS (Venezuela), July 7: Russia, Nigeria, the Dominican Republic and Lithuania won on Friday to reach the semi-finals of the men’s Olympic basketball qualifying tournament.

Russia defeated Angola 80-65, Nigeria edged out Greece 80-79, the Dominican Republic upset Macedonia 86-76 and Lithuania beat Puerto Rico 76-72. The top three teams in the tournament will fill the final berths for the London Olympics.

Russia will face Nigeria and the Dominican Republic play Lithuania in Saturday’s semi-finals, with the winners advancing to London. The two losing semi-finalists play on Sunday for the final place.—AP
