Army maintain supremacy

RAWALPINDI, Dec 15: Pakistan Army athletes maintained their supremacy yet on the second day of the inter-services athletics championships at the Army Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Army made a clean sweep by winning the three medals in the 12km cross country, the only event contested today.

Havaldar Naseer Ahmed snatched the gold by clocking 38:51.3secs, while Havaldar Faryad Hussain and Naik Mohammad Shahid were second and third respectively.

Army were followed by Pakistan Navy, while Pakistan Air Force team failed to reach the finish line.

They are leading on the points table with 6 golds and as many silvers. Navy and PAF have three bronzes each.—APP
