Here is one reason why the previous editions of Coke Studio were so worth lending your ears to.

Perhaps the most famous track to have come out of CS is Arif Lohar’s Dumm Gutkoon. The moment it went on air, everybody in Pakistan raved about it. So it’s no surprise that now the song has been taken in a Bollywood film.

Now, we’re not suggesting, even for a moment, that making it to Bollywood is some kind of a benchmark. Not at all. What we’re trying to say is that CS has, or seems to have, lost its edge. Agreed, you can’t churn out Dumm Gutkoon every season, but you can still try!
