TIMERGARA, July 5: Balambat police on Thursday registered a case against Zahir Shah, former district naib nazim and brother of MPA Mohammad Zamin Khan, on the compalint of district revenue officer, Lower Dir, Fazal Karim, police told Dawn.

They quoted Mr Karim as telling police that Mr Shah entered his office and tried to attack him. He wanted to increase price of a piece of land allocated for a playground in Odigram, Mr Karim added.

They said that the Balambat police had registered an FIR against Mr Shah under sections 353, 186 and 506 CrPc.

Meanwhile, All Pakistan Clerks’ Association, Lower Dir, observed pen down strike against interference of a politician in their official work. The APCA district president Mohammad Shaer announced to continue strike until the accused was arrested, said a press release.

OPEN KUTCHERY:  Lower Dir district police officer Salim Marwat has said that police would provide complete protection to life and property of people.

Speaking at an open kutchery at Ouch police station on Thursday, he said that it was responsibility of police to control crimes and provide security to masses. The DPO said that village committees should be formed to unite the people against outlaws.

Provincial general secretary of PPP-S Bakht Baidar, ANP district president Hussain Shah, JI leader Sultanat Yar and local leaders of other political parties also spoke on the occasion.

HOUSE GUTTED:  House of one Umar Faqir was gutted when it caught fire due to electricity short-circuit at Sakhawono Asbanr here on Wednesday night, residents said.
