ISLAMABAD, July 2: With heatwave prevailing across the country, the maximum temperature in the twin cities hit 45 degrees Celsius on Monday. The Meteorological Department has said the current heat spell would become more intense in the next few days.

According to the weather report released by the Met Office, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Punjab and Islamabad on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hot weather conditions will persist for the next four to five days across the country and temperature will rise further,” said an official at the Met Office.  The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 47 degrees celsius in Sibbi, Risalpur and Turbat while the maximum temperature in other cities was Rawalpindi 45 degrees, Islamabad, Peshawar and Muzzafarabad 44, Murree 31, Lahore 46, Quetta 38, and Karachi 33degrees celsius.—A Reporter
