LAHORE, June 30: The health department has cancelled Sunday holiday of all senior admin officials, including health director general, executive district officers, principals and medical superintendents and directed them to reach their offices as per directions.

The health department issued a notification in this regard on Saturday.

A senior official of the health department said senior admin officials were called on Sunday to make standby arrangements for tomorrow (Monday) regarding treatment of patients at outpatient departments.

He linked the cancellation of Sunday’s holiday to the dialogue on the issue of strike. He said principals of all teaching hospitals and representatives of Medical Teachers Association, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) and Young Doctors Association (YDA) would meet on Sunday (today) at Committee Room of Lahore General Hospital at 11:00am to resolve the issue of strike and service structure.
