LAKKI MARWAT, June 29: The district health department launched anti-dengue spray drive in the district on Friday. The campaign was kicked off by District Coordination Officer Nisar Ahmad at a function held in the district headquarters complex Tajazai.

EDO health Dr Abdul Ghaffar Wazir, DDO Dr Abdul Rehman, Agency Surgeon, FR Lakki, Dr Shamal Khan and other officers concerned were present on the occasion.

EDO health Dr Ghaffar said that besides conducting fumigation drive the health department would launch a programme to create awareness among people about the hazards of dengue. He asked the people to cooperate with health officials for successful completion of anti-dengue spray drive in the district.

DCO Nisar Ahmad directed the health department to carry out fumigation in urban and rural localities and educate people on preventive measures against dengue virus. People should be advised to be careful at the time of sunrise and sunset and should not use unhygienic water and food,” he maintained.

He assured that the district administration would provide all out support to the health department in order to make the drive a success.
