CHAKWAL, June 29: Two girls drowned in a dam here on Friday while washing clothes.

Adeela Naheed, 17, and her cousin Kiran Zaffar, 19, residents of Dhoke Bin Amir Khatoon in Choa Saidan Shah tehsil, went to wash clothes at Choi Dam along with other village women. While washing clothes, Adeela slipped into the water. Seeing her in trouble, Kiran dived after her but both drowned.

On seeing the girls drowning, the other women present there made hue and cry. The villagers rushed to the dam and called Rescue 1122 personnel who fished the bodies out. — Correspondent
